Pseudogout (CPPD)
Type of arthritis caused by the accumulation of calcium pyrophosphate crystals in the joints.
Overview
Pseudogout mimics a gout attack but is driven by calcium pyrophosphate crystals rather than uric acid. It favors the knee and wrist and is commonly misdiagnosed, which delays effective treatment.
How we treat it
Accurate diagnosis via joint fluid analysis and imaging is the key step; from there, inflammation control and flare prevention are highly effective.
