Sarcoidosis
A rare inflammatory disease characterized by the formation of small clusters of immune cells.
Overview
Sarcoidosis forms granulomas — tiny clusters of inflammatory cells — most often in the lungs and lymph nodes, but potentially in the skin, eyes, heart and joints. Some cases resolve on their own; others require sustained treatment.
How we treat it
We determine which organs are involved and how active the disease is, then treat proportionately — from watchful monitoring to targeted immunosuppression.
