Sarcoidosis
A rare inflammatory disease characterized by the formation of small clusters of immune cells.
Overview
Sarcoidosis forms granulomas, tiny clusters of inflammatory cells, most often in the lungs and lymph nodes, but potentially in the skin, eyes, heart and joints. Some cases resolve on their own; others require sustained treatment.
How we treat it
We determine which organs are involved and how active the disease is, then treat proportionately, from watchful monitoring to targeted immunosuppression.
